“There is no reason not to follow your heart.”

My ‘Adventurous Quote Posts‘ are usually reserved for quotes by adventurous types – your famous adventurers and explorers, but occasionally they also feature great writers or thinkers.

Well I am going to add another category to that list today, that of the great visionaries. The person I am thinking of in particular is Steve Jobs. Jobs to my mind was truly a great visionary a one-off and an unbelievable motivator of men in both business and in life. If you have ever been lucky enough to listen to one of his Apple keynotes you would know exactly where I am coming from with this. His various speeches and musings would probably have you follow him over the top (metaphorically speaking) and if need be you would probably do so without asking too many questions .

Personally, as you probably already know by now from this blog site, I love to escape to the outdoors and travel the world, (it’s my hobby and a great pastime of mine & hence this entire WordPress site) but to do that costs money! It’s a bummer; but a sad fact of life. So to earn that money I create things, I create them on computers using software and programs nearly all of which have been created and developed in some way or form by Apple Inc, I am in fact writing this very post now on an Apple Mac.

Without above said software and accompanying hardware I would not have the career I have, the life I have, the home I have and who knows, the money that I have, the same money that enable me to indulge in the things that I love to do, be it travelling around the world, or experiencing some form of adventurous activity or whatever it happens to be that floats my particular boat on that particular day in time.

So I was very sad to hear the recent news of Steve’s passing, I believe that the world has lost a true innovator of our modern times, a true visionary and a person who created tangible change in the crazy world we all live in.

With all that in mind todays motivating and inspiring quote has to be from the man himself, it’s not a business or work orientated quote as might be expected but instead it addresses us all on a much more personal level, on a basic life level, and it’s a good reminder to us all why we all have to get out there and seek adventure by following our hearts, when and wherever we possibly can, because the clock is ticking people, for all of us, every minute of every day! These thoughtful words by Mr Jobs now seem to have even more poignancy considering his untimely death earlier this week. So please read on, and please consider the words very carefully as you read them, to me they make a lot of sense! Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish, and follow your hearts! jamehand.
