A Weekend of Adventure!

This weekend I will be embarking on a cracking little adventure in The Peak District.

I will be getting the train up from London to Sheffield then another train onward into the Peak District to the village of Bamford. The Weekend Warrior!

weekend warrior

Instead of a heroic and adventurous quote this week I thought I would instead briefly investigate the meaning behind an oft used term or phrase – ‘Weekend Warrior’.

If you have read my bio you will have noticed that I too use ‘Weekend Warrior’. as a descriptive term for some of my activities. So, as I use it I thought I should at least know its meaning. After some searching on the internet I settled on the description below which I think best rings true (in my case at least).

‘Weekend Warrior’: a person who holds a regular job during the week which restricts their ability to party/go on trips/partake in awesome activities, and thus plans epic weekend adventures to compensate. As much variation and quantity of awesomeness is packed into the weekends as physically possible, warranting the rest of the work week to recharge for the next weekend.

Do you agree? Are you a Weekend Warrior yourself? Maybe you know of a better description? Or do you think it’s a load of old tosh!I I would love to see and read all your comments, so do please leave them below via the handily placed ‘Leave a Reply’ comments box.
