Foto Friday – Tunnel View, Yosemite National Park

Yosemite Valley from Tunnel View

I just loved travelling around California in a camper van a few years ago and Yosemite National Park was the real highlight of the trip.

Yosemite is internationally recognized for its spectacular granite cliffs, waterfalls, clear streams, Giant Sequoia groves, and biological diversity. Almost 95% of the park is designated wilderness. This is the classic sort after valley shot that everyone wants to capture ‘Tunnel View’.

Remember what Bilbo used to say

As a fan of all things Tolkien and with the upcoming release this week of the second in Peter Jackson’s trilogy of films based upon Tolkien’s ‘The Hobbit’ I thought it appropriate this week to post one of my favourite adventurous quotes lifted directly from the realms of Middle Earth.

Remember what Bilbo used to say: It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.” – J.R.R. Tolkien

There is one kind of robber!

There is one kind of robber whom the law does not strike at, and who steals what is most precious to men: TIME.” – Napoleon Bonaparte

Waiting for a ferry - Mekong Delta

Some locals wait on a small pier jutting out from an island on the Mekong River with bicycles for a ferry boat to pick them up and take them across to the mainland.

I like snapping candid shots of normal life while travelling around the world that would be anything but normal taken in the context of my life back in London.
