I’m lucky enough to be off again on a short trip. This time it’s across to the The Royal Forest of Dean. Once again, as on my last trip, it’s on the beautiful Welsh borders area situated between the River Wye and the River Severn. This is an area I know well having been a regular visitor for the last 35 odd years on and off.
The Forest has always been a wonderful outdoors playground ever since I can remember, but in recent years investment by The Forestry Commission and other external bodies has enabled the area to really push itself as a great destination for outdoor pursuits.
With that in mind I’m off to sample the new mountain bike trails at the Cannop Ponds Trail Head Centre deep in the forest. Hopefully I can fit in some good hiking too while I’m in the area (the woods offer some great walking countryside with miles of tracks).
In the meantime here’s a short but sweet video to get your stoke on of some of the trails that I hope to be riding while I’m there next week!
